Great Fishing Spots Near Lexington Park

For those who enjoy spending time near water, there are some great fishing spots near Lexington Park. Residents of our townhomes for rent in Maryland have easy access to all of the following:

St Mary’s River State Park

St Mary’s River State Park is one of the most popular freshwater fishing spots in the area, and is well-known for its largemouth bass population.  It’s located less than fifteen minutes away from our Glenn Forest apartments in Lexington Park. Notably, there is a large gravel parking lot and even a launch ramp for boats.

The comfort station in the park includes a playground and picnic tables for easy lunching, and pets are welcome.

Calvert Cliffs State Park

A major attraction in the Calvert Cliffs State Park is the one-acre fishing pond in the picnic area. Of course, you can experience the other attractions the park has to offer, like fossil hunting and more.

You can access the park any time from sunrise to sunset all year round, although there is a day-use service charge. For those who are 16 or older, you’ll need to acquire a non-tidal fishing license before you can start fishing on the pond. The beach is also open for fishing if you have the right equipment and a coastal sports fishing license.

Point Lookout State Park

Point Lookout State Park is also close to Lexington Park. If you visit any time between mid-April and December, you can use the 710-foot pier as your fishing base. Also, there is a provision for night fishing, allowing you to keep at it from sunset to 6 a.m. For this, you need to pay extra charges as well as have a valid fishing license.

For an easy picnic lunch, consider bringing sandwiches from a local shop. Contact us if you’re interested in learning more about what Lexington Park and Glenn Forest have to offer.
